Clear View Skins Application Instructions.

Please read all of the instructions before you begin the installation.

Do Not Apply Water Directly To Your Device!

A water and soap solution is used to wet the skin only, so that it can be positioned on the device.

Turn your device off and remove any removable batteries. Wash your hands. Clean your device and remove any fingerprints.

1. Identify the protective skin pieces while they are still on the backing and determine where they are to be applied to your device.

2. In a shallow dish, mix a few drops of a mild liquid soap with about 10 oz. water to make the application solution. Let the solution sit for about 10-15 minutes before using it to allow the suds and any tiny air bubbles to dissipate.

3. Wet your fingers with the application solution and remove the section of skin that you are applying to the device from the backing. Submerge the skin in the solution to wet the adhesive side thoroughly. Don’t lose track of which side of the skin was stuck to the liner. This is the side that will adhere to the device.

Tip: Keeping your finger tips wet will prevent your fingers from sticking to the adhesive and leaving finger prints on the under side of the skin.

4. Lightly shake the excess water from the skin. The skin doesn’t need to be dripping wet; a thin layer of the solution works the best.

5. Place the skin on the device and move it into position. The skin should slide freely on the surface of your device at this point. If it doesn’t try adding a little more soap to your water and re-wetting the skin.

6. Start pressing the application solution out from under the skin with your fingers being careful not to move the skin. Use a credit card (or something similar) to squeegee the rest of the solution and bubbles out from under the skin.

If you are unhappy with the placement of the skin or if you see bubbles, you are unable to remove, this is the time to remove the skin and return to step 1. After the skin has time to set up you will not be able to remove it without damaging it.

Tip: If you remove the skin after making contact with the device, dry the surface of the device off and go back to step 3. This will help prevent trapping the tiny air bubbles that form in the application solution when the wet skin is lifted off of the device.

7. If you are applying a skin with flaps or areas that won’t stick down, give the skin about 15-30 minutes for the application solution to evaporate. Then wrap the area over and press it down with the palm of your hand for about 30 seconds.

We recommend waiting 12-24 hours before you turn your device back on after installing the Clear View Skin. This wait time allows the skin to "set up" properly. Also, since the application solution wets on the skin during the installation process, this wait time allows the skin and electronic device enough time to dry properly.
